Well done to all ‘Open’ swimmers who competed in the recent North East Regional Championships in Sheffield.
14 swimmers competed in a total of 62 events and our swimmers represented DASC exceptionally well with an overall PB rate of 58%!!
Four swimmers in the 16/under age group qualified for 14 finals between them.
Alex Morton made 8 finals in all four of the strokes – 50m, 100m and 200m Butterfly, 50m and 100m Breaststroke, 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke and 100m IM. Alex’s 100m IM time has qualified him for English Winter Short Course Nationals in December.
Ben Matthias was a finalist in 50m and 100m Breaststroke finishing 4th place in the 50m and also achieving an English Winter Short Course Nationals qualifying time.
Lucy Oliver made three finals in 50m Freestyle, 200m Butterfly and 100m IM.
Emma Carter was a finalist in 50m Breaststroke after achieving the Scottish National Open qualifying time in her heat swim.
